What if you could invest in a TV series like you invest in the stock market? It's now a reality. ACE Fund has just achieved a world first: the tokenization of a complete catalog of previously broadcast series, allowing investors to directly receive a share of the revenue generated by broadcasters like Arte or Canal+. An innovation that could profoundly transform audiovisual financing.
Why a TV series catalog?
“This is the first time that a complete catalog of already broadcast TV series has been tokenized, allowing investors to directly receive a share of the broadcast revenue,” explains Gregory Montfort, co-founder ofACE Fund.
The choice of series is not trivial. Unlike a single film, whose profitability often depends on immediate success, series catalogs constitute a more stable and predictable asset, thanks to multi-year and renewable contracts. Result: a model that limits risk and offers more regular profitability.
A technological and legal feat
Tokenizing cultural works cannot be improvised.
“The main challenge was to legally translate a copyright into a tokenized digital asset, while respecting European legislation,” emphasizes Grégory Montfort.
ACE Fund has opted for the standard ER1400, A security token designed to represent regulated financial assets. Unlike a traditional utility token, it integrates compliance rules (KYC, transfer restrictions, reporting) directly into the blockchain. A choice that guarantees security and transparency: the income collected is recorded and redistributed automatically, without an opaque intermediary.
Returns and investor profiles
The project attracts a wide variety of investors: curious individuals, business angels and film enthusiasts.
The promise is seductive:
- 25 % yield from 2025, based on broadcasting contracts already in force with Arte and Canal+,
- until 30 % from 2026 with the release of season 2 of Clicks.
"These returns are not based on risky bets, but on existing and predictable income," explains Grégory Montfort.
The risk remains present – loss of public interest, non-renewal of a contract – but it is diluted over several series and several broadcasters.
Towards a new model for cinema
For ACE Fund, this initiative is just the beginning. “It’s a much more transparent and democratic way to finance content. I think that in 5 to 10 years, a significant portion of audiovisual financing will be through tokenization.”
Series and catalogs are the most suitable projects today, but tomorrow, even blockbusters could open up part of their financing to the general public.
"Eventually, everyone will be able to invest a few hundred euros in their favorite series, just as they would buy shares in a company."
From Cannes to the Oscars: international recognition
The audiovisual ecosystem is watching this innovation with interest.
"CES gave us tech recognition, Cannes gave us artistic recognition. Today, directors and producers are listening to us and see blockchain as a solution to finance their projects faster and with more freedom."
Next step : a presentation at theAcademy of Oscars, alongside the Oscar-winning director Euzhan Palcy. A strong symbolic validation, which could openpave the way to an unprecedented future: that of an Oscar-winning film financed in part through tokenization.
With this world first, ACE Fund is not only innovating: the company is redrawing the contours of cultural financing. By allowing investors to participate directly in series broadcast revenues, it is introducing a more inclusive, transparent, and profitable model. An initiative that could well become a standard in the audiovisual industry.
